Newcomers from out-of-state can obtain a Georgia driver’s license through the Department of Public Safety, located at 235 Wagner Drive in Dalton. Hours for testing are Tuesday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 8 a.m. to Noon. A current out-of-state driver’s license and proof of Georgia residence, along with a $15 fee to be paid in cash, are the requirements. More information can be obtained by calling 706-272-2272. Three suppliers provide utilities in Whitfield County, depending upon location. Electricity, gas, water, and sewerage are provided for the City of Dalton through Dalton Utilities at 1200 V. D. Parrott, Jr. Parkway, which can be dialed at 706-278-1313.
